The Moran Group
F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems is a subsidiary of the Moran Group, whose roots extend back more than fifty years. In 1957 Frank Edward Moran founded F.E. Moran, a piping contractor, and subsequently expanded into sheet metal fabrication and installation. Throughout the following twenty years, additional companies under the F.E. Moran Group umbrella were formed, offering services such as fire protection, mechanical contracting and eventually special hazards.
F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems is Formed
In the late 70's, F.E. Moran Fire Protection was contracted to provide fire protection for coal conveyor systems for Commonwealth Edison, Sunflower Electric and Republic Steel plants. The need was recognized to develop a company that had the expertise to provide specialized solutions for these unique environments, and in 1979 F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems was formed.
Over the past three decades, F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems has evolved into an industry leader that has the expertise necessary to effectively provide fire protection solutions for high-risk environments. Experienced design technicians, project managers and installers have the knowledge to implement flexible solutions that protect the lives and valuable assets within complex facilities.
Scope of Work
F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems has completed more than 750 projects throughout the United States and 27 different countries worldwide. Comprehensive suppression and detection systems have been provided for a wide range of facilities, including:
